Over the past year, Genetic Alliance has successfully integrated emerging social media technologies to effectively reach members of the health and genetics community. This initiative has changed how we communicate with partners—advocates, healthcare providers, industry, researchers—and how they communicate with us. While social media has allowed us to extend our network, we continue to utilize traditional communication outlets, such as listserves and our website. This session will help you grow your social media presence, whether you’re a newcomer to the technology or a veteran. We will unveil strategies behind our own Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook presence, while reiterating the importance of websites and email messaging.
