Document Description
Translation of human genome knowledge and its application into public health practice requires careful, scientific-based approaches involving multidisciplinary partnerships. This presentation describes specific example of this approach in Canada. A project at the Montreal Heart Institute Pharmacogenomics Centre is presented as an example of efforts to bridge the translation gap in Canada. Through this project a prototype informatics pipeline was developed to inform doctors of an available pharmacogenomic test at the time of prescribing Warfarin in a specific clinic.
