This presentation briefly summarizes the scientific and public health environment for CDC's genomics translation activities, reviews recent reports from the Evaluation of Genomic Applications in Practice and Prevention (EGAPP)on the validity and utility of selected pharmacogenomic tests, discusses the need for a network of stakeholders to increase communication and collaboration on translation (GAPPNet), and reviews some recent public health policies, programs, and surveillance activities aimed at improving translation.
